life as i know it...
| christmas in seattle |
there's nothing quite like christmas in new york.
but since this year i'll be spending christmas in my current hometown of seattle, i'd best make the best of the holiday offerings in this part of the country.
things to do in seattle
for the 2007 christmas season
the christmas ships festival --
with live choirs singing, and a chance to see the lovely shoreline lights, these christmas ships are a wonderful way to ring in the holidays. if you don't want to actually sail, check the schedule, and you can still see the boats, and hear the singing from a number of area beaches.
the nutcracker by pacific northwest ballet -- this pnb production of this timeless classic is simply enchanting. it doesn't hurt that my hubby works on the crew!
holiday magic -- what an excellent way to do something nice for foster kids in our community! a 710 kiro radio tradition for the past 19 years, this year's radiothon benefits treehouse, a terrific organization dedicated to foster kids. i'm a bit biased this year, as i'm working for kiro on this project, so, why not click on the link and make a donation!
pacific place holiday festivities -- every evening at 6pm, the mall becomes a winter wonderland with snow falling inside the mall. check out their holiday calendar for a listing of local choirs who will perform throughout this year's holiday season. and why not pick up one of the musical snowglobes to benefit children's hospital -- a great gift and you'll be supporting a very good cause!
westlake park holiday carousel -- perfectly located right in the midst of downtown, this carousel is the centerpiece for a longtime seattle tradition.
much more to come...
